Revolutionizing Swine Farming Since 2022
Kumoi Farms, LLC is home to upwards of 70 sows, gilts, boars, and piglets. Founded in 2022 after the inception of its USDA NCRS water and soil conservation piggery, Simon “Kumoi” Deleon Guerrero, owner and chief swineherd officer, began reshaping the perception of local farmers and revived the tradition of young lancherus in the Marianas. He started from humble beginnings as a 3rd generation local farmer. Raised on the values of hard work and dedication, Simon was able to secure funding to transform his inherited makeshift piggery and mud pen into a 20-stall concrete pen facility making it the largest in the region. Several features of the facility include four dedicated piglet nursery stalls, a rainwater catchment system with two 5,000-gallon and one 10,000-gallon concrete water reserve tanks. The wastewater disposal system has a great zero-waste feature consisting of two 10,000-gallon septic tanks both equipped with a solid waste separator designed to filter out solids before reaching the liquid waste crop irrigation system. Six on-site compost bins are situated adjacent to each septic tank to create crop soil rich in organic matter.
